Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
Afterwards, look at the actual laws, which I can't easily post, so you'll have to browse to them. http://www.lexisnexis.com/hottopics/gacode/Default.asp
Read everything in
Chapter 11 - Offenses Against Public Order and Safety
Article 4 - Dangerous Instrumentalitties and Practices
Part 3 - Carrying and Possession of Firearms.
This will include everything that you need to know.
Not quite sure why you would make that inquiry on this forum. As noted above, this is the Pac Northwest, not the deep southeast. Rules are different here.
#1 piece of advice is to find your state's (or whatever state you are going to) laws on firearms and self-defense and study them. Don't just read them, but study them, dig in, look up definitions, and ask questions. Don't expect the "right" answers from local PD, you will probably know more than they do. Find a local (GA) board online where you can ask question, and if you need to, call a lawyer to answer more detailed questions. If you carry a gun, it would not be a bad idea to have a phone number to call inc case you need to use it.
