Well Burt, if I took off to meet you at the Turnaround my wife would be fine with it. But 3:00AM, I would have a huge problem with that! I got up to go fishing at 4:00 the other morn and it sucked! Read the bottom of my post, theyre out there, just an enormous amount of work finding one! I get what your saying about shallow, spoiled, over liberalized women but for those who want to mate it is possible.

I agree with the term Unmarried as opposed to Single. Single does imply there is some vacuum that needs to be filled, there is not.

Men don't want to get married because the game is rigged.

Exactly! Also, when you are in the vicinity of women at their worksite and you find one appealing ask her out for coffee. I used to try to ask 3 girls out per day and it worked very well. Almost never a three strike day! I wanted a GF and it didn't take long to find one. Met mine at a hospital, took her to a free rock concert, next time dinner! So I was trolling in a hospital cafeteria (RN's etc, good income, responsible, caring) saw a gal I liked and asked her out. I was trolling with decent bait (neat, clean, presentable) and I didn't have my cap on sidewise or ten year old cutoffs on! I just looked like a regular guy from the upper end of the food chain. I gotta agree with 2506 that online dating just isn't going to do the job. Fun thread though!

I had a feeling you were a student of Leykis 101!

I'd rather have a gun in my mouth than ever be married or be in a relationship. Between watching my mother marry then kick to the curb the bum of the month (six times before I was 17) and my two p-whipped friends (one on his third marriage, the other in a longtime relationship with a ballbuster) marriage lost any and all attraction to me.

In the past week friend #1 got into screaming match with his significant other over her spending too much time with her male friends online. He isn't allowed to have female friends of any kind, and is only allowed online if she is all but standing over his shoulder.

Friend #2 and I went fishing twice last week. Both times his gf/warden called him on his cell every half hour to keep tabs on him. When she realized that she hadn't totally killed all the fun, she drove out to the fishing hole in order to make sure any kind of fun was now dead (plus she helped herself to the beer). She also went on and on about how she wanted to hook me up with one of her friends from work...

Btw I'd take friend #1 fishing but his wife said he isn't allowed to play with friend #2 and is rarely let out of the house unless she accompanies him to do things she likes to do - chickflicks, shopping, blowing money at the casino.

I accidentally discovered years ago that the best way to meet women was to tell one of them that I was thinking about ballroom dance lessons. Within one day I was hearing from single women I had never met before asking me if I needed a dance partner. IMO, if you aren't Lykus 101 style fun, the best way is through common interests.

You might consider trolling shooting ranges, maybe you will meet one who has some .22LR...

My wife was fairly anti when I met her. She didn't like my guns, but she really liked me... so she overlooked her distaste, probably in the hopes of changing ME later. Fast forward 12 years, she's not only pro, but she packs her own.

Chicks are pretty impressionable... if they dig a guy, they'll drop (or adopt) some pretty betarded notions.

My gf was anti at first as well. She now packs her own gun as well. She actually WANTED one, not something I put in her mind...

One of my closest friends owns a car dealership in CA. He has known another dealer in town for years that has to close up shop now.

The other dealer got married 15 years ago and now is giving up approximately 60% of his assets, or 15 million. The dealership was his whole life, his reason for living. He offer the ex a partnership, a contract, anything, but no. Out of undeserved spite she is forcing the sale of his business and the liquidation of his assets including his home.

You think when a man goes through stuff like this it would be an awakening. Oh no it is not. Most men are so stupid they believe 'she just wasn't the right one', and they go back at it.

He's already out shopping for the next money grubbing wallet shopper. He's in his mid 40s, great personality, decent looking and the world could be his oyster, but NO. Gotta get out there right away and find another dream killer.

You can't fix stupid.

I knew a guy in the late 90s who asked me many times why I wasn't interested in being married. I told him the same reasons why then that I would say now. He then told me he only went out to socialize with one goal in his mind all the time - to find his soul mate and be married.

When I asked him it might not be as great as it sounded he surprised me by saying he had already been married THREE times (by his mid thirties). Stunned, I ask what happened. He said in the three marriages he had come home early to find another man having sex with each of his wives. Same sofa, same position lol.

But in his mind, he just didn't find the right ones and he was eager to find #4. Stupid is as stupid does. I wonder what happened to that guy.

Do any of you knuckleheads (LOL!) know that it is within your wife's power to have all your guns taken away? All she has to do at any point is frame you for domestic abuse. Are you really that needy to have a hen around the house that you'll expose yourself to that level of vulnerability?

Do any of you knuckleheads (LOL!) know that it is within your wife's power to have all your guns taken away? All she has to do at any point is frame you for domestic abuse.

In Canada, when you fill out the paperwork to get a license to possess firearms your wife/husband/whatever has to sign the form and give you permission to own firearms! And get this, you have to list everyone else that you are banging (for the last two years) so your mistresses also have to approve! Anyone of them can make something up and you are screwed, and not even in a good way!!

I, too, prefer to ride the solo wave. It's much easier without all the BS drama in my life. I don't have to worry if I'm with some woman who is only with me because she sees dollar signs, or she's with me for some other selfish reason. I prefer having lady friends who are just friends with benefits. It's a no drama win-win for both of us. Many of my friends have made the same mistakes as you've described. They still don't get it. They never will. In the meantime I'll continue living the way I do. Regardless of the fact that I am single, I save all kinds of money! I still have all of my hair, no strands of grey hair, and can still pass off as looking like I'm about 18 years of age.

I also refuse to make financial sacrifices for anybody, regardless of how attractive some woman appears to be. There is a reason why I have a credit score that is near 800. I don't tolerate financial retards.
