Essentially it's just a locking cabinet. One area you just can't skimp on is safe's.... That's why the good ones are so much more.

Maybe the only good thing about a locking cabinet like this one that looks like a safe is that maybe the burglar will be intimidated by the look of it as being a safe and just not bother trying to bust it and look for easier items to grab.

Craigslist has some great deals on top quality gun safes.
If you're patient and diligent in searching the ads everyday you can pick one up for half the cost of new.
Estate sales are another great way to save money and they are motivated to get it out of the house and down the road, so be ready to have a safe mover or a couple of good friends to help.
Here's an example of one that's listed on CL and it's a best cash offer, so $900.00 would probably buy this as they are moving and want it gone.

make / manufacturer: Fort Knox
model name / number: Guardian 600

We have a Fort Knox Guardian 600 "Gun safe" which we only use for important documents in our home as we don't own any guns.

We are looking to sell it for $1,200 OBO if you come to get it or hire a truck. It retails new at $4,000 but since it is older and used, and we are too busy to coordinate the move - obviously we have discounted the price accordingly.

Here are the safe details - I don't have the original paperwork for it, but I searched the make and model numbers on the back of the safe.

Year: late 1990s
Height: 60.5"
Width: 31"
Depth: 25"
Volume: 26cuft
Weight: 575 lbs
Locking Bolts: 9-1"
- 1/4" thick steel door and 5/8" hardened steel plate behind locking mechanism
- holds 15-16 guns
- Manipulation resistant lock with spy proof combination dial and key lock for additional security
- Quadrafold door frame "strongest in industry"
- Basic Fire protection up to 1200 degrees with inside kept under 350 degrees 00T0T_oXAmFV9s8y_50x50c.jpg 00R0R_fRvSNcZNNyk_50x50c.jpg

Anyone seen that Winchester "office" type safe winco had a while back?

Havent been to a costco in a long time now.
Curious if anyone has been in recently and seen those little safes.

About 1.5-2ft wide & about 3ft tall, About 200lbs. Looked as if it could hold a disassembled AR?
I need two more but cant find them anywhere.. Especially for just $299 or less like they used to be.
