Wow what an idiot! According to the story the guy was trying to break up a fight when he got hit. Then he pulled his gun and started shooting. Good for the people in the crowd taking care of him.

The story says He leveled his pistol at the crowd and fired, and no one was hit??? Seems the story was Spun a little by the media. Maybe it was a magic bullet? Kudos to the men who reacted and took this idiot down

I know the two men that tackled him and took his gun away. Yes he was trying to break up a fight and he was shooting up into the air but he did level his gun at one point and aim at the crowd. The two that tackled this idiot got arrested that night too and the cops told them that they should not defend themselves or others. WTF

Olympia, I notice, is a funny kind of town.. Glad I wasn't there, as if someone is pointing a gun at innocent people, I don't think I would resort to tackling. Sad to say. Glad nobody was killed.. Amazing.

As I posted on another thread.....in any type of threat situation LEO's are NOT your friend. Not automatically your enemy but definately not your friend. I am not surprised AT ALL that the 2 heros were arrested and will pay, in one way or another, for their good deeds. Sad that this is the way of it currently. National Socialism is nipping at our heels.

I live here and Olympia is a bit different, I do not doubt these guys were arrested but have not heard about that part. Guy was obviously an idiot and lucky he did not get shot himself.

National Socialism encouraged heroes and valor. What we face is communism, the dire enemy of NS. In fact NSism may never have existed if communism had not risen in Germany

I should be smart, like Eldon, and not respond, but I'm not that good..

Blitz, you're only partially correct. The Nazi party would probably still have existed, but probably wouldn't have gotten as good a start.

The rest of your comment is revisionist history, and has no place in an adult conversation. Although the Nazi party REQUIRED government service, it did not encourage valor. Valor is a trait inherent in some individuals, and totally lacking in others. I personally think there was more valor in members of the Red Army throwing the Germans out of Russia.

You somehow think that an army that commits mass murder is to be glorified. Fine, I know I can't change your attitude...but I do pity you. Your education (or moral character) is so lacking that it is a shame to our education system.

On Tuesday (01/01/2013) Nisqually Valley News Posted this on their FB Page:

At approximately 1:45 am on Jan. 1, Olympia Police responded to a report of gunshots in the 300 block of 4th Ave East .

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man being detained by several people and a 9 mm handgun. Police estimate that around 100 people were in the area at the time of the shooting.

Police investigators discovered that the suspect may have attempted to break up a fight that occurred between some men on the sidewalk. The men who were fighting then turned on the suspect and punched him in the ribs. The suspect moved away from the altercation, pulling a handgun from his pocket and pointed it at the crowd on the sidewalk. He fired at least two shots in the air before witnesses and police detained him. The handgun was secured by police without further incident. No one was injured during the event and the suspect did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or any other substances.

Christopher Lee Sigo, age 30 of Seattle, was arrested and booked into the Thurston County Jail for Assault in the 2nd Degree.

Edit: Here's another article from the Olympian

No felony charge for man accused of firing to stop fight in Olympia
