If it'd been me whose leg touched the car the story may have read like this:

The suspect, who left in an ambulance, was described as in his 20s, 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds, with five 110 grain Cor-bon .38 +P DPX holes in his chest and head.

How about a group that goes out and educates the elderly and teaches them self defense. Why not we do it for kids.

It pains me greatly that we live in a society that does this to those that have so much to share about life and how to live it to a ripe ole age.

But due to physiological changes, a lot of self defense stops being effective. You need some leverage, some equalization. Other parts, like awareness, reading people, how to de-escalate, those go up in importance.
