I am usually on here daily but haven't been for a few days and hopefully won't be for another few days or weeks or more hopefully.

We had a major shock when we took our youngest dog in for an X-ray for constipation or a possible blockage and they came back with fully mature malignant liver cancer that had grown a very large tumor (chances of surgery are about zero).

My wife makes the sun rise and set for this dog (and visa versa) and she keeps me company all day so she is/has been very, very dear to us.

I've dealt with known genetic issues and old age but never had a dog only last half her expected life span.

The dog went from vibrant to sick in about 2 weeks and only really this last week did we think something was wrong.

My family and I are all heart broken, this is going to be a really hard time. We have decided when she can no longer function thru life then it will be time. The pain meds seem to have given her a lot more spunk but zone her out a bit. We are also trying herbal help.

If you really need me, just start a private convo and I'll get an email about it. I still check those once a day but can't get on here and respond to 20-40 alerts per day.

Been awhile since I cried over the loss (or loosing) of an animal, but this one is a real sweetheart of a girl and it is pretty crushing and I've been weeping randomly like its my time of the month.

I'll be back after our little family crisis is over. (Possibly with some guns for sale to cover the bills that are stacking up fast - I would give up all I had left if there was any possibility of saving her from pain and with us for a few more years).

Sorry to hear this. I know its hard to lose a creature who does nothing but pour out love and kindness towards us humans.

Peace buddy.

Handle your household first. We will still be here whenever it is you return.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Man that is some terrible news bud.
My dog is a part of the family just like the kids. She been with me through more rough times than any person.
So I can't imagine losing her.

I'm sorry to hear it. I hope you and the family can make some peace out of this.
