Odd, Failed Handguns

Been hooked on 'Forgotten Weapons' lately and have been watching a couple episodes every evening.

Last night I watched the ones on the Colt 'Double Eagle' pistol and the Alchemy Spectre.

I remember the Double Eagle from the time but was unaware of the Alchemy 'Spectre' pistol.

Man, after seeing the 'internals' of the Double Eagle it'e easy to see why it was not very popular. Pretty cheezey design - Not one of Colt's better ideas.

For weird and failed (hard), the Dardick magazine fed revolver ranks up there.

I was also unaware of the early attempt by Colt to produce a one piece poly lower for the M-16.

Ahead of it time in design but lacking in poly technology.
