Not a comment regarding the post or ruling, just a note that the New York Supreme Court is a lower level court in New York (think circuit/district/superior courts elsewhere) and (IIRC) the New York Court of Appeals is the equivalent of many states Supreme Court...

I will add, the judge nailed it in his conclusion... "It can not be stated clearly enough that the Second Amendment is not a second-class right, nor should it ever be treated as such."
