It's not that big a deal:
    1. put hot rocks in water
    2. hot water makes steam
    3. steam makes whirly thing go round and round
    4. whirly thing makes sparky thing go sparkey spark
    5. sparky thing makes TV play vacuum infomercial.

I used to work in the power industry, and that used to drive our nuclear engineers crazy, though they had to admit it was by and large correct.

Here were natural reactors in Africa hat did just that. They are billions of years dead, but the caves would fill with water in the rainy season, a chain reaction would begin and continue until he rains stopped, he water boiled away, and the reaction shut down.

The difference, though, is that this is FUSION, not fission like typical nuclear plants.

If this guy is successful, big things can happen.
