    North Dakota: “Shall Certify” Legislation to be Voted on in the State Senate Today
    This afternoon, the North Dakota Senate will vote on Senate Bill 2274, critical NRA-backed “shall certify” legislation. SB 2274, introduced by Senator Kelly Armstrong (R-36), would require that a chief law enforcement officer (CLEO) sign an application for the acquisition or transfer of any item regulated under the National Firearms Act (NFA), including short barreled rifles/shotguns and suppressors, within thirty days, so long as the applicant is not prohibited by law from receiving it.

    Yesterday, a bill recognizing South Dakotans' freedom to legally carry a concealed firearm without the burdensome requirement of acquiring a South Dakota concealed pistol permit was introduced in the South Dakota House of Representatives. Authored by Representative Jim Stalzer (R-11), House Bill 1116 is an important reform to current South Dakota law.
