Nashville readies for NRA, let the bashing begin

Upwards of 70,000 Second Amendment activists will descend this week on Nashville, where the National Rifle Association is holding its 144th annual members’ meeting and exhibits, and will hear from declared, and likely-to-declare, presidential candidates.

    sounds like a fun event...

"Everytown for Gun Safety" to me sounds like a Disneyland ride that plays "it's a small world" over and over ...

NRA Bans ‘Operational’ Guns At NRA Convention

A multilevel security plan went into works not long after Nashville was chosen as the convention destination. All guns on the convention floor will be nonoperational, with the firing pins removed, and any guns purchased during the NRA convention will have to be picked up at a Federal Firearms License dealer, near where the purchaser lives, and will require a legal identification.

Several readers have pointed out that the NRA is giving conflicting information on allowing guns within the convention. This appears to be due to how the “convention” is set up. The event takes places at several locations, with big speaking and musical events at night. At those events, held at the Bridgestone Arena, guns are strictly prohibited. During the day, however, the convention is held at the Music City Center a block away. The NRA says it will allow licensed gun owners to carry their weapons.

...What ever Licensed Gun Owners are...

Perhaps what is really meant is lawful concealed carry.

    Update 2:

"During the 2015 NRA Annual Meeting & Exhibits, lawfully carried firearms will be permitted in the Music City Center with the proper license in accordance with Tennessee law. Bridgestone Arena prohibits the possession of firearms. When carrying your firearm, remember to follow all federal, state and local laws."

The exhibits are in the Music City Center. The non operational firearms will only be those on display by the vendors. Those who carry firearms legally will be allowed to do so.
