Don't know if you noticed...
the state of New York's Attorney General is attempting to sue the NRA out of existence. If they were successful, GOA and SAF would likely be attacked by progressive attorney generals in places like OREGON AND WASHINGTON state.

Hmmm, registering as a nonprofit doesn't mean anything if the top executives are sucking up all the $ like a black hole.

The $ needs to got towards their mission, protecting our 2nd amendment rights, not mansions, yachts, and golden parachutes for the top execs.

Do you mean, like Planned Parenthood?

The American Red Cross also has been hijacked by an executive group that is enriching themselves.

Interesting analysis of the bankruptcy filing.

While the NRAs incessant fund raising is annoying at best and there have certainly been some infighting among the board lately (what if those intent on dismantling the NRA participated from the inside) what other pro gun organization has done as much to oppose the gun grabbers on your behalf? We all benefit from their efforts and now more than ever you're going to wish there was someone to stand between you and the anti gun crowd.

Already in many states and soon federally there is a big push to strip you of your right to own guns or tax them to the point that you cannot afford them. Our options are pretty simple:
1. Keep complaining about all that the NRA has done wrong and pick them apart until they are destroyed.
2. Try to set aside the nonsense and take the steps they propose to petition elected officials to represent us as they should.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but the complaints aired here about the NRA are not "nonsense".

It is not the incessant fund raising that is the primary detractor of the NRA, it is rather that their executives' primary interest in enrichening themselves does not represent me. Therefore I will not support them until they change that.

I'll have to say, they did a good job.

First they found dirt (whether true or false) on key officials within the organization. Spread this dirt all over the news (mainstream media), got gun owners to discuss them and repeat them and over exaggerate them all over the internet. No one even questioned the source, the damage was already done.

Through this constant repetition of negativity, gun owners started turning on the organization, pulling their funds from it. Slowly eating away at its vastness. Life time members, life time donors leaving the organization. It lost its credibility, its reputation, and more importantly it lost its base.

When it was down, they struck again, and again, and again. Going after them with everything they have got.

Now the organization, the once strong and mighty NRA, is filling bankruptcy and fleeing to find refuge in another state. Never to be the same.

I fear that with the now neutered NRA, we will be left with very little to attack those that attack us. This has already been apparent, the NRA is in survival mode, not attack mode. It has done less and less to fight for the 2nd amendment as of recently. However, that may been a direct reflection of its loss of membership and financial backing by its members?

Only time will tell.

I highly doubt, anything like the NRA will be allowed to gain momentum ever again!

There's a third choice: Keep supporting the NRA with your hard earned dollars. Continue to petition elected officials that totally ignore your pleas because you are NOT a member of their base. All while the NRA continues down the path of bankruptcy while paying it's higher-ups insane large salaries.

Isn't that a distinct possibility? We know the democrats that would gladly cancel the 2nd amendment all together don't care what we think, or want?

As a Patron Life Member and a life membership dating to the 80's, the NRA board needs to see and understand this. .... If the board does not see this by now they have no business being there.

Emperor Wayne only does what the NRA Board allows him to do....likely they're all deep into the enrichment of self-dealing. The unofficial motto, "Where Wayne goes, we all go"
