ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A man facing charges for shooting an intruder in his home has pleaded not guilty and faces trial in May.

Keith Cramer is accused of manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide. His lawyer entered the plea Monday.

Cramer's wife discovered 35-year-old Michael Shane Smith of Alaska sleeping on the couch the night of June 19. She and their daughter went to a bar to get Cramer, who returned to the house.

Shortly after that, the 34-year-old Sutherlin man called police to report the shooting.

Smith was in Sutherlin to care for his mother before her death.

There is not enough information to make an educated conclusion either way. There is to big of a gap in the time table between him being informed of an intruder and the police being called. It's just like the media to give VAUGE bits of information regarding ANY shooting that insinuates the shooter of a home invasion is "At Fault".

I am curious to see how this plays out.
