Murder is against the law....so there is that.

It don't matter what is used to commit a crime...what needs to be addressed is the "why" as well as the willingness to commit a crime.

In any event banning something does nothing to prevent crime.

You must've meant, "it DOESN'T matter"…..

The "Rogers' syntax" is strong with Andy from drilling the 19 standing orders into his psyche as a young pup!

;):D

So adjust for population (US has about 60 times that of Norway) that would be like a mass killing here of 300 people. Of course that pales in comparison (fortunately) to the 2011 attack by Anders Breivik which killed 77 or 4,620 with an adjustment for US population.

Although I do not savor using tragedy as an arguing point, this is something that I use during 2A discussions with folks who like to point to other countries who they presume are safer. Another takeaway from an article on this:

"From what we know now, it is reasonably clear that some, probably everyone, was killed after the police were in contact with the perpetrator,"

What? Shocking, the police can't always save you. (I'm a retired LEO so not just bashing the police.)

And another take away, normalcy bias. It's difficult to be shopping one minute and realize that someone is shooting people...with a bow...the next. It's unlikely this guy was like Hawkeye from the Marvel movies so his rate of fire was not likely exceptional. Oh, and this brings up the nonsense of banning hi cap standard cap magazines; this was done with a single shot bow!

5 killed, 2 injured in bow and arrow attack in Norway, considered terrorism. "Police said the man who they said shot several people was a Muslim convert who had been flagged in the past for being radicalized, police said, according to The Associated Press. The deadly attack is now being considered an act of terrorism, the AP reported."

By the way, the first couple of stories I saw on this just identified him as a "Danish citizen" and then went on to talk about right-wing attacks. Because #journalism.

The Danish man arrested for the bow-and-arrow attack on a small Norwegian town that killed five people and wounded two others is a Muslim convert who was previously flagged as having been radicalized, police said Thursday.

Yup....

Taken from the above article.....
According to local outlets, the suspect, a Danish citizen, had previously been convicted of burglary and possession of drugs, and last year a local court granted a restraining order prohibiting him from reaching out to or visiting his parents for a six-month period after he threatened to kill one of them.
Another Convicted Felon and CRAZY......walking amongst the sane. Just like in America. Yeah.....it's time to DEMAND more.....Bow and Arrow Controls (and Gun Control for America). The "object/means" is the problem.....not the person.

More (and/or New) Laws will take care of whatever the problem is.

Aloha, Mark
