Hi all,
I'm new here. I live in Hillsboro, OR and heard about this range from a friend.
Just want to confirm that this place opens to public? Is it ok if we come this month?
thank you,
KD
Was just there yesterday and #2 was litered with palletes, a tire, and a big wood board target shot to crap. We had a packed SUV so we couldn't take it out but stuff like this irkes me.
Perhaps a fake/real camera above the signs would deter people from such behavior.
How 'bout a sign that states "This area under 24 hour video surveillance", that's usually enough to make some folks think twice.
Yes, open to the public. It can get really muddy when it rains, and crowded if you dont get there early.
Here is a link to google maps to the location. You can do directions from it.How exactly do I get there? I've searched through several pages of this thread and can't seem to find actual directions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Was planning on taking my wife out there on Tuesday.
Ok great! Thanks alot! And I'm assuming the roads are marked with signage to the lanes? I was under the assumption that I'd have to travel on some dirt roads to get there, as the directions don't say anything past N Fork Wolf Creek Road.
How are the roads generally? I understand it might be rough when the weather isn't so great, but can you get there with 2WD Sedan?
Sounds good, thanks!I'm going up there in a 2WD Toyota Carolla, so I'll let you know!
Last time I was up there I was in a FWD Golf TDi. It was pretty low to the ground but it made it with no problems. I don't know how it would have handled the snow and mud though. How are the roads generally? I understand it might be rough when the weather isn't so great, but can you get there with 2WD Sedan?
We can do that. I'll check the calendar and see if we can get ODF onboard to provide a place to place trash. Was just up there today, in a Chevy Cruze. Made it all the way to the top and turned around. You have to avoid potholes and stick to the edges, but you can do eet.
Probably need to organize a cleanup up there though - the place is pretty well trashed, and there's targets out of the OK zone, setup outside the bermed areas way up on the hill. Lots of home trash, pop bottles, food wrappers, random bits of metal. We forgot our trash bags & target stands at home, so my wife and I only got to shoot at our walking steel target today, and could only take a plastic grocery sack full of brass & crap out.
