I loved going to North Fork wolf creek, but the drive, and change in vehicle types has made it difficult to get back up there.

Having been a member of Tri County since before covid, my only gripe is that the lower complex still isn't done for rifle action shooting, and there's no more ETA. Get your action range certification as soon as you can.

In general is there common courtesy on how long one stays as spots are limited? Just curious
I would use common courtesy and consider how long I was using a lane. But there is no one more courteous than me. so there's that. If I were on lane 3 or 4 I would offer to share if it was reasonable.

Agreed, we have shared 3 and 4 many if not most of time we have gone up. Just ask if you can slide in and join i find 99% are very welcoming up there and have no issues sharing.

I find lane 4 is the hardest one to find people willing to share. I also have never met anyone from this site at any shooting spot.

I either share or start wrapping up when others show up. Depending on what I am doing or how long I've been there.

Just so I don't have to read through the whole thread, where is this located?
Just google North Fork Wolf Creek Lanes. It's on the map. About 35 miles West of Portland off Hwy 26.

You may find some other spots on the interactive map on Trash No Land home page. They are all public land spots. But please help to keep them clean so we have them in the future. https://www.trashnoland.org/

I haven't shot on public land in years, but when I did, I made sure to leave no trace. Water jugs and paper targets always packed out. Tarps on the ground to catch the brass, etc.

Is North Forl Wolf creek Lanes and actual shooting range? Or is it public land that gets shot on?

Not an official range, but is set up like it. It was, and still is, a dispersed shooting place. It used to be just a bunch of bush and stumps that presented a fire hazard, some public safety concerns and really hard to clean up. NWFA members worked with OR Dept of Forestry to do some improvements to make it a safe place and help prevent wildfires while recognizing target shooting as a viable type of recreation and providing us with a quality recreation site. There's no range facilities, no Range Safety Officers, no restrooms, and no fees.

Since then, NWFA members and the Trash No Land org has been working with fellow shooters and ODF to try and keep it maintained. But it's up to each user to do their part.

The place has seen a lot of wild and disrespectful stuff happen, but has also seen to good stewardship work. It's probably the most popular place to shoot on public land in the Northwest.

Wow. Sounds like someplace I'd like to visit. Maybe a nice place to do some jelly testing and not run into my pedophile brother in law's brother.

Is there a Ranger or someone you can call if you go out there and catch someone trashing it? Or do you just cap em and bury the body?👍

Cap and bury! (or call ODF office in Forest Grove, if you're feeling the holiday spirit!)

It's about time for a report on the condition of the Wolf Creek Lanes. Anyone been there recently and can report on how trashy or good they are? Stuff like; road condition, kiosk signs, trash, graffiti, snow report, or anything else you noticed?

I'm sure I could sneak out and pick up some trash soon.

Yes to both questions. Mostly busy weekends. Not too busy weekdays. Same with clear days or rainy days.

Many will share a lane if asked politely. Or ask how long they plan to be.

Anyone been up there in the last couple days? Is snow there or has it just been a lot of rain?
