Woman stabs intruder to death in North Bend home invasion | www.kirotv.com

The King County Sheriff's Office is investigating a home invasion near North Bend in which a woman came to the aid of her husband and fatally stabbed an intruder.

Deputies were called to the home in the 10100 block of 420 Avenue Southeast around 1:40 a.m. after receiving 911 calls in reference to a home invasion.

King County sheriff's spokeswoman Cindi West said a man was at a home where he lived with his wife, daughter and mother-in-law when his dog began barking. He went to check on his dog and found a man standing in his hallway.

Deputies said the husband and the intruder started fighting and the wife jumped in to help her husband. The wife grabbed a knife and stabbed the intruder during the struggle.

The intruder, a man in his 30s or 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"When the husband was fighting with the intruder, the wife was the one that went and got the knife, and stabbed the intruder, trying to help her husband out," said West.

Neighbors identified the couple Kyle Jacobson and Tennyson Salopek Jacobson.

Deputies said when they searched the house, they discovered a number of screens had been removed from the windows. It is unclear at this point how the intruder got into the house.

Deputies responded to the same house at 1:10 p.m. on Sunday when Tennyson Jacobson, who was home with her infant daughter and mother, called 911 after an intruder came into the house through an unlocked rear door and assaulted and robbed her.

During that incident the attacker fled. Police conducted a search with a K-9 but were unable to locate the intruder.

Detectives think the dead intruder is the same man that entered the house and robbed Tennyson Jacobson on Sunday.

“This guy apparently grabbed her by the pony tail, swung her around, robbed her, and then either slapped or punched her in the face," said West.

Some neighbors think the man may have come from a homeless camp in some nearby woods.

Detectives took bags of evidence from the home late Monday morning.

King County sheriff's officials said many home invasions aren't random, but in this case, detectives said the victims did not know the intruder.

Investigators are trying to determine why the intruder targeted the family.

cant believe there were people bashing her for killing the man. what started as an argument about whether a gun is favorable in the comments, turned into she had no right to kill him (paraphrasing).

all the same good for her but i feel bad for the husband who goes to sleep thinking "i hope i didnt upset her today:s0131:" lol

Where was that argument, in the Times?

I live on the other side of town from this crime scene.

Dispatching the goblin with a blade really took some cojones. I love a happy ending. Never doubt the courage or determination of a woman protecting someone she loves.
Totally agree with home carry. Mr Steyr lives on my person at home and we have .38 ree-volvulators stashed where they are handy.
