Non-NFA "shorty" shotguns - legal federally, not legal in Oregon?

No, AOW is a category of NFA firearm. The NFA definition of firearm is different than the GCA definition of firearm.

There are many GCA firearms such as the 14" barrel Shockwave that are not AOW. "Other firearm" is not the same as "Any Other Weapon."

If it has a rifled bore and a buttstock and fires fixed cartridges then it is a rifle. The marketing name does not trump the legal definition quoted above.

I have a Savage 24 with a 20 ga smoothbore barrel and a .223 rifled barrel. Is it a shotgun or a rifle?

So has anyone bought one in oregon? I have never seen any in a store and was interested too...

I have a Shockwave (if that is what you mean by "one"). In Oregon and I believe other states, it is transferred as "Other"

Everyone here is focusing on the definiton of shotgun, when the key to this regulation is "unlawfull possession". if you have a stamp, you should be ok, otherwise all of you out there with suppressors would be in the same boat.(unless you had a tragic boating accident!)
