I have been banking with US Bank for probably 10 years or longer and have never had an issue with them before today. I walked in and asked to setup a business account for my new firearms business and was told that they would not give me a business account because it is against company policy to deal with firearms! "It's to risky" is what the said.

I politely told them to f*** off and that I was no longer banking with US Bank.

I think from now on I will spend and invest my money in "firearms Friendly" businesses only.

Crap. I have 3 accounts with them. 2 personal and one business. I hate switching banks :( Thanks for letting me know. I will be changing as soon as I change my address (which will be soon, hopefully).

Im waiting to get out myself. Been with them for 10 years and they keep raising interest rates and adding stupid fees. Ive been treated great by OnPoint, where I keep my savings account, so I will be switching to them shortly since their customer service just blows me away every time i go. BTW, if anyone wants to switch to onpoint and you know a member, you can each get $25 by referring a current member. (Anyone?... Let me know)

Go to a credit union. A lot less hassle and usually zero "fees". Big banks are nothing more than government bail out bandits!

I'm down to just a credit card at US Bank, I've moved the rest to OnPoint over the last year. Now I'm going to move that account real soon.
I will not support them.

I've had two substantial sized accounts (for my business) my US Bank for 25 years.

Never really liked them, in fact I hate all banks because I am fully aware of money scam called Fractional Reserve Banking. Anyway ....

What is a good alternative? If a credit union, which one, and do they have more than just one location - SW PDX or L.O.

Is this a long standing policy, or something recent due to current events?

I could see why they wouldn't want to invest in a firearms business considering the looming threat of legislation and executive order that could negatively effect their investment's ability to make money. That doesn't make them anti-gun if that's the case.

The wife has a friend that works ts US Bank and was talking with her to get some clarification on this whole thing. She looked into it and US Bank will not allow the following businesses for a business checking account. Child Porn, Porn, Drug dealing, online firearm sales, and car import and export. So if you want to have a online fire arms business through US Bank they think your as bad as a child porn freak.

I've been with Sunset science park credit union for 20 years now and will never go back to regular bank and recently I have a friend who has a business who went to onpoint and will never go back to Regular bank again He got tired of being jerked around by the bigger banks and being charged outrageous fees and other crap.

US Bank has been in decline for years, maybe decades. I've been a customer of theirs since 1975 when I walked in and bought a savings bond with money I got for my birthday. Sorry to hear they won't work with firearms companies - I'll just add that to all the other things I don't like about them.

Most of our banking is done through USAA.
