... And all by the Obummer admin!
With respect, this set of lists, the No Fly List, the Selectee List and the Terrorist Watchlist were created by the administration of George W. Bush in 2001.

Unfortunately the current administration has chosen to continue those policies. I believe if they discontinued them the outcry that the Obama administration has "left us defenseless" would be incredible.

FYI's: The No Fly List is different from the Terrorist Watch List, a much longer list of people said to be suspected of some involvement with terrorism. As of June 2016, the Terrorist Watch List is estimated to contain over 2,484,442 records, consisting of 1,877,133 individual identities.

comeon you guys are getting all worked up over nothing
there such any easy out:rolleyes:

if you get on the list claim your a MUSLIM .....they get off the list by making religious persecution claims

just like the Orlando terrorist did several times!!!!! and got the FBI off his back

down the tubes we go:confused:

The NRA board of directors are committing organizational suicide by promoting the folly of "no fly - no buy". The reason why is that that leftists consider the NRA members to be "terrorists". Do you think this is a joke? Just read what leftists have to say about NRA members.

What kind of idiots would volunteer to put their own necks in a noose? (Answer: NRA directors)

I used to be a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, but he just lost my vote over the one issue.

The fact that there was a certain policy at a certain time, does not justify someone misusing that policy for other purposes.

The policy is being used for its intended purpose, to make life difficult for dissident Americans and those not in favored groups. Oh, you thought it was for stopping terrorists? Silly you, believing the Ministry of Propaganda!

As to your apologia for Bush, for creating this list, now that is really having the blinders on.

Government's job is not to do reasonable things in our eyes - which is why government never appears reasonable to us. Its job is to advance the fortunes of those in government, and their cronies.

As to "due process", that's just a euphemism for following the proper procedure in selling us down the river. Pardon my cynicism.

Donald Trump is getting beat up by Alex Jones on Infowars.com right now for pandering to liberals (and Bill O'Reilly) on this issue. Alex Jones has been a strong supporter of Trump for at least half a year.

Bill is an anti-gun guy ( in the closet, but definitely not pro- 2nd )

The Donald asked the congress and the NRA to consider by-passing Due Process, to keep bad guys from buying guns.

I don't want BG's buying guns either. But without Due Process, You, Me, all of us, we are the bad guys.

The No Fly List -- only 81,000 names.
I am sure there are no mistakes.
FBI no-fly list revealed: 81,000 names, but fewer than 1,000 are Americans (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/jun/20/fbi-no-fly-list-revealed-81k-names-fewer-1k-us/)

The (double secret) Watch Lists have many, many more names on them.
"TSA selectee list" because it triggers higher scrutiny but doesn't ban flying, has some 28,000 records,"
"Terrorist Screening Database, with about 1 million names"

What is the opposite of Due Process?
Do you remember the movie Zero Dark 30 ?
"Police, Police ..."

Reminds me of the Good 'Ol Days in the Soviet Union; Only members of the Communist Party could fly (on planes), or ride on Express Trains, or own cars, or have a decent job....o_O

I already have an idea of how this no fly list will be. I am on a permanent delay list and because I never get an ok, some FFL's refuse to sell me a gun. After a lot of calls and letters to both the FBI and BATF I was finally told that because they do not know why I keep getting red flagged IS the reason for the delayso_O So until they figure out why I get flagged they have to keep the delay in affect. That was 7 or 8 years ago.

I was denied over a year ago and I already had the forms for the fbi, so I had my fingerprints done and submitted everything. That was over a year ago and I never even received a receipt that my paperwork has ever been received. Far as I can tell the offices that used to check as to why a person is denied/ delayed are all closed down, and nobody in the fed gives a cr@p
Fortunately for myself, Arizona has a CCW card that trumps federal law. Since I got my ccw, I have had no problem buying guns

Here is another example of a list - one the Left just loved </sarcasm>

It used to be that the colors for the 2 major parties would switch from election to election. Republicans have been Red for some time now. Red is the traditional color of socialists. Commies being Pink. This gave rise to the popular Baby Boomer trope: Better Dead than Red.

Seems to me, if you aren't a US citizen and on this list you need to be deported, green card or not, until you can prove you aren't a threat. Now, that seems like actual common sense to me, and I would expect similar treatment were I in a foreign country.

This leaves us with the remaining US citizens, and I think investigating about a thousand people is within the means of the FBI or other agencies to determine if the person is a threat or doesn't belong on the list. If a threat, then effing follow up and bring charges.

See, you can have actual common sense in a gun control related issue.

Using the list is a good chance of being a slippery slope. Spin it off as a good thing all you want, the issue is that when you give them something like that it isn't difficult to abuse it. I'd rather not take the risk.

No need to be coy about it. In the eyes of the ruling class, we are the bad guys, period.

Did you guys catch the ridiculous D sit-in, in the House? Congress is starting to look like the Brit House of Commons. And to think that Robert's Rules of Order were invented in the US... o_O

I'm not suggesting that it be used as a gun ban list. I'm suggesting that they deport foreigners on that list then use resources to investigate the thousand or so citizens and either sh!t or get off the pot where they are concerned.

Local and national news was covering it almost non stop trying to make these guys look like heroes. I'm frankly embarrassed.

Wasn't thinking you meant it for guns. Just see where it can be abused. Keeping in consideration that the dangerous ones are coming over courtesy of dear leader and friends. Keep the ones they don't like out, and bring in the ones they do like.

Agree to disagree on the matter really. It looks good, but who knows whether or not they'd just find a way to abuse it.
