What say you?

'There is no Second Amendment right to own guns,' says N.M. man

Anyone who honestly believes that the battle over firearms rights is finished could consider an Op-Ed in the Saturday edition of the Santa Fe New Mexican to be the proverbial splash of cold water, as author Hank Bahnsen insisted that "There is no Second Amendment right to own guns. So intended the founders!"

It's not the Bill Of Privliges
It's The Bill Of Rights
and that bit in the 2nd Amd. " Shall Not Be Infringed"????
The man is a well polished Turnip, a perfect example of his "Class"

Step one: Look up the definition of "keep", verb form: to have or retain possession of

Step two: Look up the definition of "own", verb form: to have as one's possession

Step three: Look up the definition of "possess": to have as one's property; own

A bit circular, isn't it? Leads to the conclusion that "to keep" is synonymous with "to own".

18th-century readers, who were not too widespread, would have understood, for example, the phrase "keep slaves" to mean "own slaves". The same interpretation would have applied to "keep arms".

What a moron!

Well, I have a few friends that would like to chime in on this topic......

A free people ought to be armed." - George Washington ( 1st president of the USA, commander of the continental army, A founding father of the USA, presided over the drafting of the US constitution,
signature on the us constitution)

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."

"The Constitution of most of our states (and of the United States) assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed."

- Thomas Jefferson (A founding Father, principal author of the Declaration of Independence, and the third President of the United States)

"Americans have the right and advantage of being armed, unlike the people of other countries, whose leaders are afraid to trust them with arms."
- James Madison ( A founding father, author of the 2nd amendment one of the authors of the bill of rights, signature on the us constitution)

"Arms in the hands of citizens may be used at individual discretion in private self defense."
- John Adams ( second president of the United States, first vice president of the United States, A founding father)

"I ask sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people except for a few politicians."
"To disarm the people is the most effectual way to enslave them."
- George Mason (founding father , along with Adams are the principal authors to the bill of rights )

"The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms."
- Samuel Adams (American statesman, political philosopher, and one of the Founding Fathers of the United States)

He and Bloomers among those like them, belong on the front lines with America's enemies.
They are not Americans in any definition of the term. They are "THE ENEMY" .
They should be treated as such.

A buddy posted this on another site just a day or two ago, I think he makes a good point:

"This topic addressed two specific groups:

Nationalists: Be controlled so that your master can reactively proclaim your safety.

Patriots: Control so that you can proactively proclaim your safety.

Obviously, these two groups have extremely different ideologies, and never the twain shall meet- except in the battlefield. And they have indeed done so throughout history. When victorious, the former create Communism (in its various forms), while the latter create Republics (in their various forms). If you don't believe me, go check out world history for the last 7000 years or so that it's been recorded."

<- Why there aren't any school shootings in Israel!
Teacher with long gun slung over her shoulder!!!

The SCOTUS says it's a private right, unconnected with military service. Look it up in the Heller decision.
