A marine sgt taught me how to use a night stick in the middle of a riot and they are very effective weapons in skilled hands.

I once used it for a very violent attack on a mouse running loose in my old bedroom. Mouse survived, although I did end up giving my synthetic 10/22 stock that was leaning against the wall behind the door a proper burial.
