First off Welcome a board. You should be able to locate the resources needed to make yourself more at ease with firearms. A lot of uneasiness regarding firearms is simply from being unfamiliar with them. In which case try going to a firing range to try out several different types of hand guns to get a feel for what you like and for what fits your hand. Lastly respect the weapon in your hand. It can save you or destroy you. Most importantly, Have Fun checking out the many different types of handguns.
