It won't be expensive to the politicians. That only hurts the taxpayers. The only way we could stop these unconstitutional laws is to make these politicians personally liable for all court costs including the plaintiff's when their law is found unconstitutional. Here's a crazy idea... can SCOTUS/Fed courts award punitive damages to those who win civil and Constitutional cases against States? If so.. award the plaintiffs who won against NY an amount say 75% of NY's tax revenue to them? Make it hurt where it hurts the most... make it too expensive for politicians to continue to defy SCOTUS and infringe upon the Constitution...
Looks like you have to download the app to read more than 1 short paragraph?
I never said it had to be tax money just it had to equate 75% of tax revenues. 2021 NY tax revenue; 3.3 Billion. 75% of that is roughly 2.475 billion... taken from the sponsors own money would be goodIt won't be expensive to the politicians. Washington, D.C. – Today, Gun Owners of America (GOA) and Gun Owners Foundation (GOF) secured a preliminary injunction in federal district court against most of New York's poorly named "Concealed Carry Improvement Act." This follows GOA and GOF securing a temporary restraining order against the law in October, which was frustratingly blocked by a federal appeals court.
The ruling from Judge Glenn Suddaby, who indicated this law has imposed "unprecedented constitutional violations," enjoins the following provisions:
The injunction will take effect immediately, despite the State of New York's attempt to delay the injunction.
- Requiring good moral character
- Requiring the names and contact info of spouses and other adults in the applicant's home
- Requiring applicants to disclose social media accounts for review
- The restrictions on carrying in public parks, zoos, places of worship, locations where alcohol is served, theaters, banquet halls, conferences, airports and buses, lawful protests or assemblies, and the prohibition on carrying on private property without express consent from the owner

I will be more than delighted if it only applies to federal. We can all dream. For now.Any member of afederalanylegislativegovernment body...
...who votes in favor of the legislation, or acts to enact or enforce such legislation, and who a) knows, or b) should have known, ...
Write that up and send it to folks like Ted Cruz and Mike Lee. If nothing else it'd be worth seeing the looks of horror on the faces of the Dems and RINO's when it is submitted.(42 USC Section 1983b, Amended) Malicious Legislation.
"Any member of a federal legislative body who actively participates in the: drafting of; argumentation in favor of; the reading of into the congressional record; or who signs in sponsorship of said proposed legislation, and who votes in favor of the legislation, and who a) knows, or b) should have known, that its enactment would constitute an infringement on any of the provisions of the United States Constitution, shall be guilty of a felony."
(42 USC Section 1983c, penalites upon violation) "The penalty upon conviction or guity plea in the commission of Malicious Legislation shall be up to five years in federal prison and, in any case, not less than one year in federal prison."
In my dreams.
Gonna wait for election results. Don't want to send it to Patty "Gun free world" Murray.Write that up and send it to folks like Ted Cruz and Mike Lee. If nothing else it'd be worth seeing the looks of horror on the faces of the Dems and RINO's when it is submitted.
