Just got my first paycheck of the year and see that there are 2 new taxes. A FMLA tax and a sick leave tax. I don't remember this being something we voted on , at least i know if it had been on the ballot I would have voted against it. Is this a State or federal tax? I hope Tim Eyman's group is trying to fix this.

Paid Family & Medical Leave - How do I manage my Paid Family & Medical Leave account?

Luckily I work for a tribal government, so I'm exempt. But I don't recall it showing up on a ballot either.

I can't tell if it was actually put to a populace vote or not.

The legislature voted to give everyone paid maternity/paternity leave. Forgot to vote on how to fund it I guess. The money isn't available til 2020, but they are trying to fill up the pool now. Would love to see this get challenged.
