Sig P229 is on my wish list and it has been for a while. I wouldn't get the Stainless version. If anyone is looking for one, Keith's in Gresham has a stainless 9mm for $999. They are heavy, same weight or even heavier than P226. I love the beavertail frame and I had a P226 9mm a while back with 1500-2000rnds through it with no failures. Congrats on your purchase and go get it dirty.

You know...since you don't like that gun at all...you can always let me keep it safe and cared for! P229 is going to be my next handgun purchase without a doubt. Just a matter of what caliber and sub-model at this point. Those Elite SS are beautiful weapons. I think the only thing that could be improved is the use of a Hex or Torx grip screw instead of the damned slotted ones.
