Welcome to the forum!! Thanks for finding us! Hawaii...you poor basterd...lol. (But good on ya!). Agree with you on Germany, that was the best (mid 80's). Ft. Hood... couldn't wait to get out of there but I had a good time despite myself. Hawaii would have been awesome duty but I don't think they had a need for Cav Troopers there.

@aflineman Just out of curiosity, Hahn? Grandpa was deployed there around '62-'65, probably with 496th FIS, and the family lived in Kirschberg and Dillendorf then.

Welcome from an Army vet. I put in for Hawaii as my first choice of duty stations but got stuck in Ft. Carson Colorado...
I have family in Bonney Lake and am there often visiting the granddaughters.

Yup. Hahn. '86-'88. Lived in Belg, Trauben, and Zell.
