New to SCSA, what equipment do I need?

Hi all,

I am going to start shooting SCSA in northern Oregon, and wanted to pick folks' brains on what equipment I need at the bare minimum.

Here's what i have currently:
.Glock 45 MOS w' rds/Surefire x300
.6-17 round magazines
"battle belt" with 4 pistol mag pouches and my T-rex arms holster.
*oakley glasses & good electronic ear protection too.

What else should I be looking at, if anything?

Tri-County gun club has speed steel competitions. i would consider that northern OR.

TCGC is not a sanctioned SCSA match. It's an outlaw match, as is the match at ARPC. Both of those matches are just called "Speed Steel". As to your equipment, you are good to go.

Ahh i see! Well im less concerned about the "officialness" of it. I just wanna go out and try my hand.

If you are not a member of TCGC, please familiarize yourself with the club rules and the match rules. Also, centerfire pistols start from the holster, so make sure you are comfortable with that and can do it safely. Good luck!

I've shot IDPA and USPSA, but speed steel matches is my home.

Both TCGC and ARPC have an extensive collection of stages that are rotated through from match to match, SCSA shoots the same stages all the time. That can get a bit stale. Lol
