May I suggest taking some classes on proper safety and handling of firearms. Not only for your safety, but for everyone else as well. Not saying you not safe, but it is better to learn with instruction, rather than mistakes.

Welcome. I'm a gun owner for only a couple months too. Sig P220carry elite and a lightly used Ruger GP100 so far. I know how you feel. I got 5 hours private instruction, joined the local gun club and some old timers with instruction experience have given me many tips on safety and use. Going for a couple more trainings before the Summer is out. I think I need a long gun now. Loads of info and I hope you learn as much as I have from this forum.

Thanks. I felt like a chump when I showed up at the range the first time and all of my friends had Kimber 1911's. This last time out, one of them wanted to check out my SIG. He actually liked it and I felt redeemed.
