New to Beaverton, need place for shooting not range

Hey all. Just moved to Beaverton from Phoenix AZ. Big culture shock to the system but not as bad as the weather shock. Anyway, looking for a place to go out shooting, but preferably not a range. Heard there were some places to the east of Portland, but not sure where exactly, just in mountains. Can someone help me out in giving me a heads up as to some nice places to go? Desperately need to blow off some steam, ex husband driving me nuts.

Tillamook forest. Just follow the signs to Tillamook out highway 26. Browns camp has a gravel pit that a lot of people go to but you can shoot anywhere you can find a safe backstop.
