Looking around the gun broker, it looks like a new model of pistol from Springfield just arrived. XD mod 3 for about $300. Maybe the echelon isn't replacing the XD series after all? No info yet on Springfield's official website or Reddit/similar so must be hot off the press. Gun broker spilling the beans again

Ended up buying one. My favorite FFL earmarked one for me for release date, today and I got an instant approval. Even had enough time left in the day to go to the range and put 150 rounds through it. My price was $305 otd. You can't beat this this gun at that price. Makes me one of few people in the country who own one and even fewer who own AND shot one. Not much of a brag but I'm happy.

They only include one magazine, which makes it a slightly lesser value, but Gun Mag Warehouse has them for $21/ea, which isn't bad.

Will it be in 9x19mm or will there be other calibers in over versions of it?

I would speculate a compact version will be made and probably a .45 but I don't work for Springfield so your guess is good as mine. Currently only in 9x19 and only in 4" OSP variety

Hey, it's missing something...

Ok, fixed it.

So......critique the gun for the rest of us less fortunate. What does it compare to? How does it shoot? Accuracy? Follow up shots? Trigger? Feel in the hand? Glock killer?

Well, after seeing the 'Guns" review I can see the factory sights are gay. If it had the Hellcat sights that would be a plus.

Every other plastic fantastic handgun? Except Hi-Point of course. THEY are indestructible!

About right. It's a polymer framed striker fired gun in 9mm. It does about what one would expect
I don't really need a compact-mid size-ish plastic 9mm, but might get one anyway just because of my positive experience with my XDM 10mm 5.25". It has a great feel, good magazines, wonderful trigger and has been completely reliable, even with a 9x25 Dillon barrel.

I suspect this is the culmination of the now decades of tweaking the HS2000/XD/XDM lines.

Glock killer?
Every time someone comes out with a striker fired plastic framed gun doesn't require another brand to be 'killed'. Social media is rotting your brain.

I would like the grip texture to be more aggressive but that's a personal preference thing. Otherwise, seems to be a pretty ok pistol especially for the price

I've enjoyed the XD line of pistols since I was too young to buy one and my girlfriend had to (she was 21). Don't tell anyone that though, we've been married 22 years now. But, I have several XD's in different sizes and they have all just plain worked. My original XD sub compact has eaten well into the 35k-40k rounds, other than some finish wear on the outside it looks and functions like new. This new one may be a good addition before the overlords spring a requirement to take a class and buy a permit to exercise my rights.

My lack of using emoji's shows here, I was being extremely sarcastic. I hate that term "Glock killer" and the way it is used in new pistol reviews.
I have never had any social media what so ever other than a couple of forums I visit here and there. Still using a flip phone man.
