Are those made by the same folks that make the Sharps rifle? Forged, cast, milled?
They are made by the Sharps Rifle Company, and they are a forged receiver.
Did this once come from the closeout at Rguns.net?
Not unless Rguns what at the Portland Gun Show and was selling them for $150.00.
No they're an online seller, I just have never seen these for sale anywhere else :dunno:
I want it. I had to sell my other lower because I needed to get XMas presents. Is it still available?
Yes it is. Just give me a call.
it is the same
Was this purchased as a rifle,or a stripped lower ?
Looking to build a pistol, hence the question.
It was purchased as a lower. Just as the pictures show it. Brand new and unused.
When you filled out the 4473,did the dealer you purchased it from call it in as a stripped lower,or as a rifle?
They can be purchased either way, this went into effect Nov 2008,prior to that they were called in as a complete rifle.
Simple question,your answer is evasive.
It was called in as a "Stripped Lower" as I told him I wasn't sure if I was going to build a rifle or pistol.
If your sale falls through,i may be interested.

I thought lowers were considered a rifle as they are the piece with the serial number and registered. Every forum I belong to lists them under rifles because of this reason. All of the ones I have seen listed on this site have been under rifles.
I guess I know now where it belongs now.
its not a complete firearm.............yours could be a pistol or a rifle if it was called in as a stripped lower
Which is why lowers are placed in the "parts" section.
