The WW article was misleading (surprise!) when it said they supported a failed ballot initiative that called for safe and locked transport of firearms. The failed initiative called for a whole lot more than that: banning whole categories of guns and basically all semi-automatics and magazines with more than 10 rounds.
Leaving that out makes these people look more "reasonable" (cough) than they really are. These are gun ban people trying yet again to get the thin edge of the wedge inserted...

Hell I support the idea of keeping firearms safe from kids and peoplewho should not have access. But screw the idea the government is going to tell me how or access penelties

Same. I keep all my firearms locked up in a safe. But I sure don't need to government telling me to do so, or else!

Personally, my preference is for less government intrusion into my life. I'm an edumacated man, I think I can make my own decisions.

For the record, all firearms are secured at all time in a device more than adequate for their safe containment. The one exception is my EDC, which is otherwise under my control...

Progressives and socialists need government to tell them when and how, not free people... Period...

What works to keep someone's firearms safe and secure at home , should be decided by the gun / home owner...not some faceless Government entity that's hasn't got a clue 'bout me , my guns or my living situation....
A "One size fits all solution"...is often one size fits none.
What works for one person may be fine for them...but not for someone else....

Okay, really?
Such a stupid poll.
When my boys were in school, if someone had asked me if I was concerned about a nut-case with a gun showing up at their school I would have said, "YES". Not exactly a mind-altering trend.
The funny part is this:
"After safe gun storage, parents and teachers surveyed said that gun violence could be reduced through expanded mental health services, increased anti-bullying programs, and limiting entrances to school buildings."
They didn't say gun bans, they didn't say confiscation, and they didn't say assault weapons, 30 caliber clips, bump stocks, shoulder-things that go up, or anything even remotely related to guns (no matter how UNrelated to real guns).

They KNOW that the government has failed them and that arresting the rights of law-abiding citizens isn't the solution. IMHO, there just isn't a legislative solution, this is a societal problem that can only be "fixed" by US.

I don't claim to have an answer, but I know that laws are a prosecution tool, not necessarily a deterrent. And not ever a "fix".

Students at Oregon high schools in the 1980's had long guns in their vehicles and we never had school shootings. Firearms are not the problem.

This group is screening their anti gun propaganda film at BMCC in Pendleton this Saturday evening. Anyone seen it yet? Anyone want to come help me rebut these nuts?

The vast majority of teachers and parents in that poll, can go smoke a pole... @AndyinEverson excepted, or course. ;)
I think he was excused when you said "the vast majority" and "in that poll"... the first excuses him, and I doubt his opinion was even includes in the poll thus making him exempt...

WW has pur out very many articles worth reading since early 2000's...
Doesn't help that they don't have any local writers or editors... who are unapologetic about essentially moving in to corrupt our community.
