I remember it pretty well. Elmer always wore his ten gallon hat and a big cigar. His house had a elephant head stuffed on the wall and a couple of elephant leg floor ashtrays. His big Ivory gripped Smith and Wesson was a beauty and he let my little brother and me handle it. My grandparents lived in Salmon for decades and are both buried there. I started school there through third grade.
