I got to watch a priceless attempted straw purchase in progress a while back. The "purchaser" was accompanied by what was best described as a "ho"; at least that what he referred to her as. He checked out several glamorous handguns until he found the one; a Magnum Research 50AE if memory serves. Keep in mind, no effort was made to cover up the ruse, no one in their right mind could mistake "that's the one I want" for "that's the one for you ho".

Anyway, paperwork time, presented to the buyer, he passes it to the ho and instructs her to fill out the form. At this point, myself and other customers who saw the action, were standing there wondering if the dealer was going to miss the obvious. He didn't, he snatched the paperwork back. At this point we are waiting for the fight to start; it didn't. Dealer told the guy that neither he, nor his ho, was leaving the store with a gun, period. He went on to explain a straw purchase, they both left seeming unbothered, probably not the first stop they'd made for the day.

This year? Wonder where he'd get ammo for it?

This all ties in with them wanting to give the UN power over US citizens. This WHO treaty they are signing is a step towards gun ownership control. All they need to do is correlate gun violence as a health pandemic and the fun begins. We need a strong stomp down in November.

Old GUN laws and one example is in IL with a FOID card.

CA and NY have it and a few others do too.

Say that a Federal Lic was required before purchase.

So then......(yeah, The Standard Disclaimer Applies)......
The Anti-gun crowd might just/will probably say.......

Well, how do we KNOW that last week, the person didn't suddenly become a "prohibited person?"

So......what use is the Federal Lic? You'll in all likelihood still be required to pass and wait while authorities check again........

Another background check. A waiting/cooling off period.....while the authoritioes check the "latest records."

Let's collect a fee......you know.......for the just making a lic. and making the Govt do the extra work. Then.....
Let's raise that fee every year.
Let's make that fee so high, that it discourages people from gun ownership.
Let's also require more expensive hoops to jump through (example: a psychological exam, a Chief LEO's or a Judge's approval).....in order for people to exercise THE RIGHT.

Compromise. Sure. The libs can agree that they will not attempt to take my guns, magazines and/or ammo and I will agree not to shoot them for attempting to do so. Sounds like a reasonable compromise to me. As far as fees, the $30 that I will be charged to renew my Enhanced Idaho CWP is a reasonable ammount, especially in consideration of the fact that it will exempt me from NICS checks for the next 5 years and I can lawfully carry in every state in the western US except CA and HI. Before someone says that I left out OR, I did, because OR has already given me permission to carry there.
