Heard about this place today, joined moments later, seems like a good place to be.

My names Steven, I'm a Satellite TV Technician, been in Salem over a Decade, lived in Oregon most my life. My hobbies is being a Jack of all trades, I'm all over the place including basic prepping and building solar run systems when out and about.

My family was never into firearms, it was my grandfather who introduced my brothers and I.

Since then, I've slowly grown my collection as I can afford it, got my CHL for Oregon and Utah, enough to renew the Oregon twice and the Utah once.

My main interest is target shooting and self defense, but I'm growing the collection to hopefully learn to hunt in the coming years. I really only use iron sights but I'm starting to get into scopes considering some of my purchases.

Lately, due to the insane price of ammo and availability (I have to buy on a budget), I've been switching calibers in the AR platform. Figure I'll have more calibers to use so if I find something in a store, I might be able to use it... also got on order a dream caliber (12w lead time) since the cost of ammo on it seems to be about the same even with covid.

.556
7.62x39
300 Blackout (enroute)
.308
350 Legend (just assembled)
12.7x42

50BMG (12w lead time).

Just a little bit about me...

Welcome Aboard. Glad you found the forum.

This is the best place to hang out on the internet.

Once we're able to start using the public lands again, check out the organized clean ups. It's the best way to meet the community and learn where and how to use public lands responsibly.

[Edit- We are doing non ODFW supported cleanups at public forests] - check the North Fork Wolf Creek Road thread in resources.

Until then check out Trash No Land.

The Beaver Dam one looks interesting, a few are a good drive from Salem. Planning on joining a local range but they only max out at 200yds and the new platform I'm getting, the 50bmg I hear should be zeroed at 500yds.

Thank you.
