Hello guys.

I am in the process of moving from the high desert area of Southern California to our new house in Coeur d'alene Idaho. Many reasons we chose to move from the place my wife and I both grew up in but most important is to have a better life for our kids. I have an 8 yr old step son, 4 yr old daughter and 2 yr old daughter. I fully intend to do everything I can to not let the NW get anything like that complete joke of a state I previously have called home, and on all aspects not just gun related.

I have always been into guns and consider myself a bit of a collector. I think that's what they call it when you only buy guns and don't ever sell any. I look forward to excercising my new found freedom asap and buying a few more.

I was pretty active on the site we used down there, the site still has a great reloading section. I also did a few cleanups around our area, not sure if that's even close to as big of a problem up here but would love to clean up some areas and meet some like minded people.

Great to be here, I know I'm from CA and have some lashes coming so let's get this over with...

Welcome to the forum and the NW!

Looking at your name, you an electrician?

Messy sites around the NW are a big problem, and there are many cleanups that are organized through this site - seems primarily in Oregon and Washington, but I'm sure Idaho could use some as well.

Enjoy the site and your new home.

Throw away the shackles and never look back. :) Welcome to the site and area!

I think all anyone ever asks of fleeing folks from komiefornia is to leave the loony mentality behind. (my neighbors didn't and they are not liked too well)

Embrace your new freedoms with open arms and teach your family well.

Share your first purchase when you get settled?

Haha, I actually started getting called that in high school while in a band and it kind of stuck throughout the many forums I've been on, all guns and car related. I figured why change. I'm a traveling product support rep for a construction equipment company which is what has allowed me to move where I want and not have to change jobs, a great thing very few are fortunate enough to experience.

Thanks very much for the kind words gents. CA is definitely in the rear view for us and kids will be taught to keep the NW beautiful just as we tried to do when cleaning up our CA area.

Cool. Main reason I asked is that there is a franchise electrical contracting company known as "Mr. Electric" - I've known a couple of folks that ran trucks for them.

Sounds like you're in the right place now :)

Welcome to NWFA. My GF is from Spokane and has eyes on Cour D Alene as our next move. I'm a desert rat and like Boise, but as long as she's cool with leaving Portland (no small feat), I'm all in.

Stick around...I'll see you in a coupla years...we'll go shoot some stuff.

Welcome to the forum! I'll be heading your way here shortly... once the Army gives me my parole paperwork in July. After 20+ years of going where I had to now I get to go where I want to, and for now that is Spokane. We'll have to get together and shoot some once I get settled.

Welcome to the N.W. Things move a little slower here and with a little more thought! The air is a lot cleaner, the kids can play outside and not have to worry bout scarry things happening as much, taxes are sort of better, and the fast pace you left behind will soon become a joke to tell your new friends here! Good for you to cast of the chains of socialism of the failed experimental Utopia of Kalifornaation, and welcome to Normal! Breath deep friend, that is what freedom smells like! Welcome, and Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum. BTW, why would you sell guns anyway?

I never understood either but I hear some people actually sell them. I can't say I've ever shot a gun I didn't like, that makes this an expensive hobby. Couple that with my other hobbies of reloading, car restoration, and drag racing and it's easy to see how I'm always broke:)

My wife was concerned when we got into guns. Like she said, that she knows how I get into things. So several times in the six months, I told her that I'm only going to buy one more gun; which was about six pistols ago. I'm into cars too, so I know how that goes.
