Once we're able to start using the public lands again, check out the organized clean ups. It's the best way to meet the community and learn where and how to use public lands responsibly.
[Edit- We are doing non ODFW supported cleanups at public forests] - check the North Fork Wolf Creek Road thread in resources.
Until then check out Trash No Land.

I have been an avid user of public land in our state for many years, and I love doing my share of cleanup work! I have never participated in organized cleanup events, I just usually carry stuff out of the woods that I find there, but I definitely plan on participating in events like that as time goes on.Welcome Aboard. Good for you. I would like to offer the advice to get some quality training from the start. having little experience in the past can be a good thing, because a person hasn't develop bad habits.
it takes much more effort to "unlearn" old habits than it does to learn new ones.
