Nothing like shooting 11 per round for 5 rounds in 3 to 4 hours at a BPCR Long Range Gong or Buffalo match off of Cross-Sticks. The first time I did it years ago I wasn't conditioned for it. Black n blue the size of a small pizza. It's awesome.

Just twenty 12ga slugs and my shoulder is purple meat. I couldn't imagine 55 thumpers.

If ya really want to light up a 45-70, get a strong action and load a bunch of RL7 behind a 405gr Speer. No problem to get over 2000 fps with it, and that's only out of a 24" barrel.
For some reason, none of my friends shot it more than once.
