Have you had a chance to test fire the gold plated one since the plating was done?
Good question. I have many gold pistols besides this collection, and I shoot them. This one is PVD, smooth like butter. It is made by Baer Custom, which is famous for reliability and 50-yard 3-inch accuracy. Their barrel fits so well that it leaves no scratch when you rack this gun.

The PVD barrel will never scratch. The gold was finished in hard gold; the regular gold plating method is 1000; hard gold is more expensive and more wear-resistant.

It can withstand lots of rounds without any issues with the finish. Royal Blue and PVD are the most strong coatings that will last forever.
