I have an assembled upper that I'm hoping I can get someone who knows what they're doing to swap out the old receiver with a new one that I just bought. I know rainier arms will do it for $100. Anyone in the Tacoma area want to help? Let me know if you've got a recommendation or any questions. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving.

I'd do it for free but I live in Portland. I can't imagine charging $100 for 20-minutes of work...guess I'm in the wrong profession :D

All you need is a barrel wrench to unscrew the barrel nut/delta ring, a punch to remove the pin holding the gas tube to the front sight base and a receiver block to hold things still.

Most of these items can be purchased at a gunshow, or brownells or any number of online sources. I bought mine since I don't like paying someone elses husband to do what I can do...lol :)

To remove the barrel from the upper I'd choose the following items from the image below:
    (R) Receiver block...holds receiver clamped in a vice while unscrewing the barrel nut/delta ring
    (E) Barrel wrench
    (L) Punches...use a flat starret punch

I have the wrench...just no vice and I've never done it before. Don't want to mark it up making rookie mistakes...it's a Noveske shorty that I'm putting a new VLTOR upper on. Think I can do it?

Hey man, I have a shop in Auburn and would be happy to do the swap for you.

And no, you cant do it if it has a Noveske rail on it as it takes a proprietary wrench, (or I should say it would be very hard to do without destroying the Noveske barrel nut)

I have the proper tools to remove, install, torque and headspace all the bits ( bring your BGC and we can check headspace if you want)

Let me know, I'll be working most of today as well as the rest of the week. My shop is out by the Muckleshoot Casino.

As far as payment I drink the Mean Bean Monsters, Bring one with ya :D
