    Hello,

For her final history project, my high school daughter is performing some shooting experiments to confirm or debunk some of the Warren Commission's findings (JFK). We can perform about half of these at our range in Sherwood (Tri-County), but need an open range for some of the others. For example, she needs to shoot through two watermelons and Tri-county only allows paper or steel targets.

    We only need 85 yards.

Can you please recommend a location within about an hours drive of Portland?

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

    /Steve

Coastal range, take hwy 26 towards the cast and take your pick of deserted logging roads. Plenty of open space out in the coast range.

@OregonDistance , I'm interested in hearing more about your daughters experiment. This is great that she, as a high school student, would choose to do this. Would you report on what was involved with her experiment, her findings and her experience?

You can only shoot paper or manufactured targets in the Tillamook forest. Call the ranger office and ask for an exception though.
