When I was in the Boy Scouts, my troop teamed up with an all blind troop from Portland. I will never forget that experience. We spent a weekend at Camp Meriwether on the Oregon coast. I was responsible for a guy all weekend from sunup to sundown, and being sixteen, it was very humbling and life changing. Because up to that point, my whole sixteen years on earth were just about my welfare.
