Need Help Putting on TRI Rail on my AR

Soo I just Got my AR and bought a Quad rail. The guy i got my quad rail from tried to sell me a wrench for like 35 bucks and since im assuming im only gonna use it once is there a different way I can do it with out the tool cause it seem like a waste to buy it?

What kind of tri rail. does it go on the forearm? is it a free float tube, or does it simply replace your handguards? What tool did he try to sell you? The AR barrel wrench combo tool?

Its a Quad Rail not Tri rail.. Stupid me lol... But yea its a free floating UTG model 4/15 #416SF and it was the the AR barrel wrench combo tool Im guessing..
