Have you looked at the Hodgdon/IMR/Winchester site? That's what I use to reload from. I get the best accuracy from my 22-250 with the 53 gr HPBT on 35 gr of Varget. The closest I've come with another load, to that accuracy, was 55 gr V-Max on 34 gr of H4985.

I didn't see what you're reloading for, but with the HPBT and the Varget, I can shoot the tops off of pop bottles out to 150 meters with the 22-250

Yes, using the 55gr data for a 53 grain round is fine.

My best round out of my 22-250, by far, is H380 with 37 grains and the 52gr Sierra HPBT Match.

In general I've found that BT's seem to help with accuracy most, followed by the HP. Much depends upon your needs, and if it's accuracy first - then that partiuclar Speer bullet is best by my experience. Yours may vary of course.

25.0 grains of H4895 was Waters favorite, and it has been the most accurate for me as well with any of the 53gr boat tail match bullets.

Your mileage may vary, but Sierra have been the most consistent in that bullet/weight for me.

Gather round, scouts:

H380 is called that because Mister Bruce Hogdon bought a bunch of military powder, and started trying to find out what it would best work for: He tried loading it in the .22-250, using a 52 grain bullet.

38.0 grains was the sweet spot for him. He marketed that powder with a name that recognized his discovery.

According to the current books, that is a starting (or mild, mid-range) load. You can probably go up to about 41g. Take the scenic route, multiple potty breaks along the way.

Trust Bruce. Then explore further.
