This does not look good at all. The press release from the department appears to have false justification. At the end of the video the officers, not knowing they were being recorded, seem to make a verbalization knowing things were bad. They throw in a little robot (without announcing themselves), occupants freak out (not surprisingly), and he come to the door holding said robot (betting the officers thought their robot was a gun).

The statement in the link also appear to not tell the whole story (not justifying anything).
In the early morning hours of December 13th, 2022, officers from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department obtained a search warrant for a residence in Bear Paw, NC after a disturbance call made to 911 dispatch hours earlier.
In addition to obtaining the search warrant, officers from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department also requested assistance from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians' SWAT team and a siege of the residence was conducted.

You don't get a search warrant and call in a SWAT team for a "disturbance" so it would be nice to hear the rest of the story on this.

In our current leftist-funded hatred of law enforcement, is it not best to wait for the whole story to come out?

Search warrants are not easily or quickly obtained. It will be helpful to read the affidavit when it is released. Can the affidavit contain false information? Of course! Look at the various FISA warrants! However, the homeowner here certainly heard the commands, even before he picked the robot up. "Show us your hands" and yet, in his sleepiness, intoxication or narcotic state, he held a dark obect in a darkened environment as he exited with the object in his shooting hand. Tribal police were there and they KNOW their community.

Let the whole story come out before the indiginous sovereigns among us get their commando gear in a bunch.

The attempted cover up is the story here IMO

Agree the whole story needs to come out. But as noted above, they are trying to spin the narrative as he was doing something wrong. Their latest press release comes across as basically blaming the Cherokee Indian Police Department SWAT team and this is the reason why then need to have their own. Talk about throwing someone under the bus.

From the original press release, "...engaged in a verbal altercation with officers and emerged from a camper trailer and confronted officers." He came out of the trailer like they asked.

Just be honest. Don't make people look bad until you know the facts. My bet is this was a mistake of fact shooting where one or more of the officers saw their robot in his hand and thought it was a gun. Bad, but more understandable than the narrative they initially spun. Sucks, but likely not criminal.

I have a history here of supporting LEO's and explaining how bad things can happen under stress. Not a big supporter of agency and management bureaucrats when they try to spin narratives.

I was watching some videos from "southernprepper1" and he cut his "boots on the ground" report a few minutes early and metioned this video and provided a link.

It says they made initial contact at roughly 2317hrs, but obtained a warrant and called a SWAT team for assistance. If you watch the security camera footage in the first video, you'll see the time-stamp at roughly 0450hrs…. the missing 4.5hrs is not addressed in either video

In the follow up video, oddly the time stamp is not on the security footage like it was in the first video.

I was initially irate after watching the first video this morning because it made it look like the stealthy robot insertion was the first attempt at contact, but I watched the 2nd follow-up video this evening and then it clicked that what may have (or may not have) happened at the reported initial attempt at contact at 2315hrs is either sorely missing, or an LEO fabrication.

More information needs to be released before I'll make up my mind on this one.
