NBC lies

This morning I saw a segment about how the US has the most lax gun laws in the world and it was allowing Mexican criminals to buy automatic weapons including .50 cal and run them in to Mexico.

As we know most of those guns are SOLD to the Mexican government, then they are sold to the drug cartels, stolen by them or simply given to them. But of course that was never mentioned by the clip.

What a crock!!

It's hard enough to keep our gun rights without outright lies by the news media

I know, nothing here is new to us!

This is one reason I no longer watch NBC/ABC or read Time magazine. Fox News is a little better........Spad

Even Fox, though... I hear them use the term, "assault rifle," as well as the questionable, "high powered rifle" all the time.

If it bleeds, it leads. Mundane news with truth at its core doesn't sell ad copy. Sensational sells.

...and yes, this tripe regarding how our gun rights makes Mexico a more violent place would be laughable if some Americans weren't actually taking it seriously.

IMHO, it's allllll the corporate media that put ratings & keeping their sponsors happy over reporting truth. I am not a socialist, but I think it's the Super-Mega-Wealthy corpos that basically decide what is or isn't broadcast-- commercial media outlets gotta keep those ad-buyers happy or they'll pull the plug. Now that is some truth, right there. Frightened people are much easier to influence and/or control. I read & listen to liberal media, conservative media, and everything in between from sources here and several other countries... and world-wide with few exceptions, those with the deepest pockets seem to call the tune.

I cancelled my cable 6 months ago and havent looked back since. The networks only broadcast news that favors what their parent company wants.

Ditto. Cancelled DirecTV and not looking back, either. Withdrawal symptoms where milder than expected.

All of them make me nauseous, even Fox. Get my news online.

"Repeat a lie often enough and people will believe it." I heard that was a quote from Adolphe Hitler but I don't know for sure.
