Your XM177 look a like is interesting.

Though....you might think about another flash suppressor. Back in the day, you could purchase a F/S that slipped back part way down the barrel. So that the 16" barrel wouldn't look so "funky."

Well... I wrangled him into the gun cave this evening, and walked him through the build process and we got 'er done.
He decided he didn't really like the Knights Armament RAS after all, and opted for a plane Jane forgrip. So he and @Stomper 's guns are nearly identical and I'll sell the RAS to help fund our Texas road trip this summer...

He is much more excited about this than he was the tacticool carbine he originally got... And it was great father/son shop time.
He has a better understanding of how things operate too....

Not for sale... It was a gift from my good buddy Wally at Gators. I have zero products made by Stag, but it's a cool man cave hanger to be sure!

Well before we even tested it, I found an xm177 upper here in the classifieds for a smoking deal, so I pounced... and and instead of pistol, were swapping to full on xm177... I'll sell the barrel on an M4 upper, and keep the A2 for a future build...

I'm looking for another 11.5" barrel to build another "pistol" that I'm doing, so when you're ready to sell it shoot me a PM and let me know what you want for it!

I need help... what should I ask for this? We put it together, and a week later I got a PSA 16" m4 upper that I was going to put up for trade...and after I finished it, my son said he really liked it... and would probably like the comfort of a new school rifle over the cool factor of the old school. And we can probably get a little more out of this to put towards the trip.
Any suggestions, I have no idea the make of the upper, but it's obviously older... has the rarely seen large diameter forward assist button, an Armalite A1 grip, along with early dust cover, delta ring, and a Polymer CAR stock. It could use a retro lower eventually, but it's got a brand new Aero on it now. 12.5" barrel with a pin and welded mod to 16"



This is what he decided on keeping instead.. for now anyway. All the shiny ergonomic comfort of the Magpul seduced him to the dark side.

He really likes the retro a lot more aesthetically, but for the sake of accuracy(16" vs 11.5"), ammo selection(1/7 vs 1/12), comfort, and the ability to mount the supressor when it gets out of jail... he decided to go with the magpul equipped carbine for now... we will build another retro gun down the road when we aren't pinching pennies to try to fund a trip and pay bills.

And now we have another AR pistol in the fold, almost like our original build, but this one is quite a bit cooler. IMHO
It's an agency (likely SWAT) trade in Colt 6933 "Commando" upper, and an Aero pistol lower. I bought the upper from a NWFAer, and intended on swapping the barrel for my 14.5" and building a SOPMOD M4 with a RAS and all that, but I really did like that OG build, and I still had a pistol lower, and it just seemed too cool to split up.... especially with my Tax stamp due back in the next few months... this will make an excellent supressor host. Besides, @Stomper has 2 of em' now... I can't him have all of the 11.5" pistol fun to himself!
I'm gunna have to hold off on the Mforgery till I can get a 6920(gotta deal in the worx for that). I'm officially a Colt fanboy now.
If it wasn't obvious by now both my son,and myself, have a hard time settling on what we really want. Minds subject to change without notice.

It's mine, stays in my cabinet. "His" AR is a 16" carbine... that said he is 18. He can't buy a pistol, but his dad can give him one.

Yes you can give a pistol to a 16 year old under Federal law if it's your kid.
