My Sig 556 runs very smoky...does yours?

I don't oil the piston or barrel anymore. Pretty much just the bolt carrier. It still runs very smoky, I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they have been able to correctly diagnose and fix it. Almost thinking it runs smoky in general? Anyone have any ideas? It is a patrol model if that matters.

Could it be the type, or brand of ammo you are using? Some ammo is smokier/dirtier than others.

Hadn't thought of that, I have been running the "plinkers" from BVAC for longer than I could remember. If anyone else has had the same problems running this type of ammo would they please let me know.

The reason I hadn't thought of it was because it shoots just fine out of my MSAR STG-556( thanks again Prospector1). But then I guess that beast is different with most of the parts encased in the stock.
