I was on KATU (channel 2)news today... They caught me coming out of the Portland Expo gun show and asked me how I felt about the protesters... I said that their 1a rights are just as important as my 2a rights... I had a lot to say, but they didn't show most of it... I wish I had been more prepared, and I wish Ida been a little more articulate, but at least I took advantage of an opertunity to be heard. They of course used the snippets that suited thier narrative.. Guess I had my 10 seconds of fame.

Its a long read, but it gets into the psychology of the antigunner... why they feel so strongly about it etc.
in part... it comes down to projecting thier own fears of what they might be capable of onto others. Basically they don't trust themselves, so nobody should be trusted.

I've seen that, or something similar at least, before. I think there's some accuracy to it, but I also think that the root cause is still ignorance. Many, if not most, antis barely know what a gun is, have never touched one, and probably haven't even seen one in person, except on a cop's hip.

Knowing nothing at all about them leads to fear, and the media hype of events like this meld that fear of the unknown into fear of what they would do with that unknown. I think that if antis were educated and given some experience, even just an hour or two on a range, most wouldn't be so vehement. Might not flip them, but it would probably tone them down. It's too late for many of them though, most are too scared to even look closely at a picture of a gun.

Perhaps they should go live in Europe for awhile, see how brutal and grisly murders can be, with people being hacked in the streets in broad daylight...

those a holes actually changed clips from the 5 oclock to the later. at 5 they used the part that was quoted in the write up, and for the 6 and 11 they changed it to what you see in the video... I liked the first one much better. you want to be carefull not to sound insensitive about the shootings, but make your point.. and I kinda had a hard time finding the right words.... of course they would play that part
or maybe im just being too hard on myself, Its unnerving seeing my face on tv and knowing its being shown to thousands of people that hate my point of view. At least I tried
